The 50 fintech were selected from a pool of 403 eligible applicants operating in 111 countries based on four criteria: inclusiveness, innovation, scale potential, and traction. 35 experts from venture capital, technology and financial services firms identified the most promising startups providing credit, insurance, saving and other critical products to low-income household and business that are particularly vulnerable to financial shocks like the COVID-19 economic crisis.
As one of the winners, UangMe demonstrates the power of financial technology expand access, usage and quality of financial services in East Asia and Pacific markets.

UangMe was founded in 2018 to provide unsecured short-term loans and installment loans to underbanked individuals through its mobile lending application. The aim of UangMe is in line with the theme of the Inclusive Fintech 50 competition.
