Jakarta, January 15th, 2021 - It's a pleasure to announce that PT UANGME FINTEK INDONESIA (UangMe) has officially been permitted for business license by the Financial Services Authority (OJK). UangMe granted the business licensed based on OJK decision letter KEP-4/D.05/2021 which applies without any specific time limit.

Vincent Saputra, UangMe’s President Director said that “PT UangMe Fintek Indonesia has so far positioned itself to provide Indonesian people a solution to help their immediate cash needs to maintain their economy resilience. We support the government’s effort to give financial access to the underbanked. It is proven by the trust of 1.6 million new registered users and the total loan disbursement of US$160 million (Rp 2.39 trillion) in 2020. This feat will not be possible without support from our dedicated team of our employees, the trust from our lenders and our consumers. Our tireless effort to improve the well-being of the underbanked is also supported by our unique proprietary IT system to assess the real need from our consumers and to mitigate the inherent default risk. We uphold prudent lending and we are proud to be the top 5 peer-to-peer platform among 160 registered companies. Our effort finally gets recognition from the OJK which grants us full license to operate this January 2021. On this auspicious moment, we want say thank you to OJK, our customers, lenders, employees, AFPI and all supporting companies that make it happen. Let us continue our partnership to strive to give Indonesian people a better living.”

The full license status allows UangMe to continue its work to bring financial inclusivity to Indonesia’s underbanked micro SMEs.
